On December 1st, the Rutgers University Foundation hosted the first ever Rutgers Giving Day. The Walter Rand Institute performed particularly well, securing 55 total donations and accounting for 12% of total donations received for all Rutgers–Camden programs. This placed WRI in fourth place behind the School of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, and Student Programs.
The 24-hour campaign successfully raised $1,112,155 through 5,858 individual donations, and included bonus challenges ranging from shouting out favorite Rutgers professors to posting Instagram photos of babies in Rutgers onesies to videos singing the alma mater. All posts were curated using the #RUGivingDay hashtag.
