Carla works as a Research Coodinator, leading, managing and facilitating diverse projects in the region. Carla has made significant contributions to WRI’s work as the retention coordinator for FAMCO, as a key grant-writer on the Veterans Serving Veterans project with Rutgers-Camden Nursing, and project design support for the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Kinship Navigator evaluation. Additionally, Carla contributed to the dissemination of COVID-19 data and analyses conducted at WRI throughout the pandemic. Most recently, Carla has led coordination of FAMCO, managed a review of Cooper University Hospital’s HeroCare Connect program, and oversees coordination of the Vimenti School evaluation in Puerto Rico. Colleagues describe Carla as a strong organizer, a  thoughtful and ready collaborator, and a skilled partner who can manage complex issues and challenges.

Prior to WRI, Carla worked in behavioral health care in Pennsylvania in roles of translation, direct care, and case management. Carla received her BA in Romance Languages from Bowdoin College, where she focused in Spanish and Italian. She worked as an English instructor abroad before pursuing an MA in Psychology from Rutgers University-Camden, completed in May 2020. Carla is invested in supporting projects that focus on improving access to services and responsiveness of interventions for underserved communities and immigrant populations.
