Whether providing financial support for student-focused initiatives at WRI or the broader mission of the Institute to the region, each commitment made to WRI is a step forward to a stronger, more vibrant South Jersey.

WRI Initiatives Fund

Provides support for the Institute to realize its overarching strategic mission of being responsive to South Jersey’s needs and amplifying Rutgers’ teaching, training, and service goals, e.g. WRI-initiated research and evaluation, writing, dissemination, and public engagement efforts, and developing and expanding pathways for community-focused research in the region.

Walter and Leah Rand Awards and Scholarship Gift

Provides support for student-focused programs and initiatives at WRI, including scholarships, fellowships, internships, student staff positions at WRI, and other opportunities for students to learn and engage in community-focused research in South Jersey, data analysis, and writing.

Walter and Leah Rand Awards and Scholarship Gift – Hillary Project

Provides support for WRI initiative under the Hillary Project -an effort to honor the memory of nurse Hillary Herskowitz, a Rutgers University School of Nursing alumnus who tragically passed away due to burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds would be used to further additional research and programming that supports Rutgers-Camden School of Nursing students and alumni. Learn more.
